Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Gridline website (gridline.cc), the Gridline Dashboard (app.gridline.cc), and the Gridline Discord bot (together, the "Service"), operated by AlexFrush under the project name Gridline Development ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Gridline is a free tool for sim-racing leagues. It is provided "as is", and we may change or discontinue features as it develops.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and meet the minimum age required by Discord and the laws of your country to use the Service. If you are below the digital age of consent in your country, you may only use Gridline with your parent or guardian's knowledge and permission, and they are responsible for your participation. By using Gridline you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. The Service

Gridline helps sim-racing leagues run their race weekends: driver attendance, RSVPs and reserves, race scheduling, stewarding and incident handling, Driver of the Day voting, driver profiles and statistics, and league applications. Results and championship standings are available to leagues with early access to that feature. Everything can be run from Discord; most of it can also be run from the Dashboard described in section 2a.

The Service is free today. We may charge a fee in the future or offer paid tiers while keeping some features free; any changes to pricing will be announced in advance. Individual features may be added, changed, limited to certain leagues, or withdrawn. The Service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time, and we don't guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.

2a. The Gridline Dashboard

The Dashboard at app.gridline.cc lets league staff and stewards run their league from a browser. It is a second way into the same league data the bot already holds — not a separate product, and not a separate copy of your league.

You sign in with Discord; there is no separate Gridline account and no Gridline password. What you may open, and what you may change, follows the roles your league has granted you in Discord, and is re-checked against Discord as you use it. If your league removes your role, your access on the Dashboard goes with it. We may also suspend Dashboard access under section 10.

A change you make on the Dashboard is a real change to your league. Some of them — recording a verdict, rescheduling a round, erasing a league's data — are not reversible by us, and your league's audit log records who made them. Treat the Dashboard with the same care as the bot.

The Dashboard carries the same "as is" terms as the rest of the Service. Individual sections of it may be incomplete, limited to certain leagues, or withdrawn, and being able to reach a feature today is not a commitment that it will stay.

2b. Signing in with Discord

Signing in authorizes Gridline to read your Discord user ID and the list of servers you administer, and nothing else — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means and what is kept. You are responsible for what is done under your sign-in. If you believe your session has been used by someone else, email us and we will end it.

2c. Third-party services

The website is hosted by Netlify; the bot, the Dashboard and their databases run on Railway; sign-in and the bot itself run on Discord. All three are independent services governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of them is subject to those. We are not responsible for their availability, their handling of your data, or any loss arising from their outages or changes.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Gridline to harass others, or to collect or process anyone's data unlawfully.
Abuse, disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
Use the Service in violation of Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or any applicable law.

If you add Gridline to a server, you are responsible for letting your members know that attendance and related features are run through Gridline, and for having a lawful basis to process their information where required.

4. Your content

Content you or your league create or submit through Gridline — such as events, attendance responses and reasons, incident reports, driver responses, evidence you attach like screenshots or video links, driver profiles, applications, and recorded results — remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for the content you submit, and you confirm you have the right to share any evidence you attach.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any data will be preserved.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gridline Development will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed events, or league disruption, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including issues caused by Discord outages or third-party services. Because the Service is free, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, which is zero.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gridline Development from any claims or demands arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

8. Intellectual property & name

We operate this Service under the name "Gridline" at the domain gridline.cc, which we own. We do not claim any exclusive trademark rights in the word "Gridline", and if a legitimate rights-holder raises a good-faith dispute over the name, we will rename or stop using it. The website's code and content are owned by AlexFrush operating under the project name Gridline Development.

9. Not affiliated

Gridline is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Formula 1, the FIA, or EA Sports. All related names and marks belong to their respective owners.

10. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time, including for breach of these Terms. You can stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server; a league can also close its Dashboard to staff from within Gridline without removing the bot.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located there.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms as Gridline develops. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above; continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
